Daddy is gettin' older!

I was 33 yesterday! Oh my word! Not only that, but one of my staff asked me how old I was, and when I told her she remarked "Oh wow, are you really that young?"! Obviously the years must have taken their toll!

Jo surprised me by coming in to work in the afternoon with a cake! Another member of staff, Daniel, also has his birthday tomorrow, so the rest of the team at JSK had also bought each of us a cake. We therefore had a lot of cake to eat (yum). Alistair was very excited, exclaiming later "I ate some of aaall the cakes"!

Alistair, who has just turned 3, decorated my cake with smarties and "writing" himself. I am very proud!

Jo took this photo. It is of all the team at JSK on my birthday.

My birthday was on a Friday, and we normally have a staff meeting. Therefore we had an early meeting this week, and I took all of the staff bowling. None of them had ever been before, and I was a little worried that they might be a little shy, but they all had a fantastic time, and did very well. I played very badly, and many of the "lads" beat me, which was nice.

Who needs an MPV?...

...Certainly not this family of 5 on a motorbike! Actually this is a common sighting, but it is fairly difficult to catch on camera! Unfortunately my own bike is obscuring the front of the "people-carrier" in the picture. I feel particularly sorry for the little girl squeezed between mum and dad! Can she actually breathe?

Super Birthday!

It is definately birthday season here. Alistair had a "SUPER" birthday on the 22nd of April. Then It was my birthday yesterday, and then it will be Jo's birthday on the 23rd of May as well!

Alistair put all the smarties on top of the fairy cakes himself. Actually, he is becoming something of a confectioner, as you can see in the posting for my birthday as well!

Alistair's birthday happened to be on a Sunday this year, and so our Church had him come up the front, and they sang happy birthday!

This photo of Alistair on roller-skates is here for Jo's mum anne. She bought Him these roller-skates when she was here in Febuary. At the moment he doesn't so much "roll", as "step-around-awkwardly", so I think it'll be some time before he's breaking any land-speed records.

World cup fever

Everyone in India is mad about cricket.

Freya, our little Indian daughter, is no exception!

Who needs a truck?...

...Air Sahara do apparrently, and a very large one at that! A friend sent me this link in an email.

Basically there is a Boeing 737 stuck in the middle of Mumbai. Quite amusing. It is very Indian for the driver to take a wrong turn, and abandon his load! Even more Indian for the plane to still be there 5 days later, with no-one apparrently doing anything about it!!

Here is one of the photos, and if you like you can click on this link to see the full article on the BBC website; http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/south_asia/6620461.stm

Imagine that in London! It's hilarious!

Simply Delirious!

Well, Jo and I have finally seen Delirious in concert!

In January while we were in Kerala on holiday, I spent half a day getting Delirious concert tickets, as they happened to be playing near where we were staying, as part of an India tour. I then spent half a day dragging my young family across India to go to the concert, only to find that it had been cancelled (I'm still not sure why). Needless to say, I was a bit miffed!

Anyway, this is just to say "thank you" to Jo's mum Anne, who sent us out a Delirious concert DVD recently. It was very thoughtful, and we can now watch the band in action as often as we want!

Cool!
